Hi, I’m Liam – a self-taught hobby baker, amateur photographer and layman blogger currently living beside the sea with my rescue dog, Gracie, and my husband, Dan.
Alongside owning and running a B&B, I work part-time as a PR Executive, but baking is my true passion. If I’m not in the office or cleaning a room, you’ll find me baking. As well as being a creative escape for me, it provides an opportunity for me to shut out the world around me. Gin also helps with that, and in a previous life, I blogged under the guise of ‘The Gin Baker’.
Combining my passion for ‘mother’s ruin’ and baking, I was very fortunate to work with a number of craft distillers to produce unique bakes that complimented that botanical’s in the distiller’s recipe.
Still very much fuelled by gin, I’ve returned to blogging with the ambition of turning my hobby into a source of inspiration for bakers and non-bakers alike. I’m hoping to share recipes that are approachable, honest and straightforward. There will be rough edges and uneven layers, but I won’t compromise when it comes to flavour. You’ll find generous helpings of sugar, butter and all the other things that we are told to enjoy in moderation. On occasion, you might even find a glug or two of gin in a few of my recipes.
If you’d like to find out more about me or my recipes, get in touch – I’d love to hear from you! And if you attempt any of my recipes, I’d love you to share it with me on Instagram. Tag @thisboywillbake or use the hashtag #thisboywillbake.
